As an Assistant Instructor you are responsible for the safety of your students and fellow divers. With the IDD Assistant Instructor course you will further expand your knowledge and skills as a Divemaster. This course is designed for the interested sport diver who would like to assist a professional instructor in his spare time to develop his hobby further. Extensive attention is given to your didactic and practical skills. After this course you can assist with diving instructions, independently give various diving courses and you can also certify these. You can also organise and supervise all kinds of diving activities at diving schools, diving resorts and liveaboards, both at home and abroad. If you get the hang of assisting in training then this is the ideal stepping stone to a full instructor course.
What we are going to do
What are we going to doIn a few days we will teach you how to teach the various basic courses. You will learn how to convey the teaching material on the basis of the IDD modular teaching system.
- We teach you the IDD guidelines and procedures of the courses you are allowed to teach and we teach you according to the IDD teaching system.
- Of course we go deeper into risk management and diving safety and we teach you how to act in emergency situations.
- Providing theory modules;
- Providing swimming pool (sheltered outdoor water) modules;
- Taking care of outdoor water modules;
What you need
After completing the course the IDD Assistant Instructor is allowed to independently train and examine snorkel divers. Under supervision of an active status IDD Instructor you may also conduct the theory, swimming pool / confined water and open water training of the Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver courses.
